If you have a potager garden its a great way to keep your plantings moving about and preventing your garden beds from growing the same crop year after year. Some good crop combinations for different sections of a potager garden include:

  1. Spinach followed by Haricot in the same bed as Broccoli
  2. Garlic and Onions
  3. Pole Beans, Lettuce and Arugula
  4. Sunflowers and Passion Flowers
  5. Tomatoes and Basil
  6. Oregano, Parsley, Sage, Thyme, Ginger, Shallots, Peas, Clematis
  7. Brussels Sprouts, Kohlrabi, Leeks and red Globe Amaranth
  8. Beans, Radishes, Celery, Bok Choy & Dill
  9. Fennel, Beets and Swiss Chard
  10. Carrots, Cucumbers, Sugar Snap Peas and Clematis
  11. Zucchini and Golden Scallopini Squash
  12. Chives and Potatoes
  13. Turnips, Cabbage, Peas and Parsnips
  14. Dahlias and Swiss Chard
  15. Peonies and Bronze Fennel

While using all of these combinations would make a very large potager garden indeed, you can still use these planting ideas in the garden beds you do have. Don't forget that you can also plant out flowers in a potager garden, and some beds need to be planted with a single plant such as lavender or strawberries.
